Step 1: Get the framework
The framework is required to to use RichWP as it adds the features into the backend. It comes with the default files to start creating your child theme! Child themes are themes that take advantage of the RichWP features. So although they sound like they’re children, they offer more than other ‘premium’ purchased themes.
After you purchase the framework, upload it to your wp-content/themes directory and enable the plugin. It is now ready to use! If you happen to get a warning at the top of the page after enabling it, simply change the permissions of your wp-content directory to 755 using an FTP program. If you need any help with this, contact me and I can set this up for you.
You can now explore the RichWP Options menu item (within “Appearance” on the sidebar) and customize your site!
Step 2: Child themes
If you would like to take advantage of the official child themes, they each have their own specialty and additional features to further enhance your site. After downloading a child theme, simply upload the ZIP file by going to RichWP Options -> Child Themes & Presets -> Upload to apply it.
